Our Favourite Things To Do 

Bude Castle 

Grade II listed, steeped in history, The Castle Bude owned and operated by Bude-Stratton Town Council offers lots to see and do for free, whatever the weather. Open daily from 10 am The Castle is home to The Heritage Centre, Café Limelight, two galleries and a gift shop. Explore Bude’s history.

St James Church

 

A 12th-century parish church dedicated to St James the Great, much rebuilt in the 15th century. Kilkhampton was briefly in the hands of the Priory of St James in Bristol, which later gave the manor to Tewkesbury Abbey.

Compass Point
 
Compass point is thought to have been built as a coastguard shelter/lookout and for ornamental purposes for local Baronet Sir Thomas Dyke Ackland. It is a small octagonal tower with the compass points carved on the inside.
